Covid: Please be alert to symptoms
Although we currently have relatively few cases of Covid-19 at Crossdale, we are aware that cases are much higher in some other local schools - we have also had more cases reported at Crossdale over the weekend. As such, we would ask all parents to be especially attentive to any symptoms associated with Covid-19 and use the testing procedures recommended by the NHS:
- PCR tests - these are the tests normally done at a drive-through testing centre, results are normally sent by text within 24 hours. These are for people with symptoms of covid-19, EVEN MILD SYMPTOMS.
-
If your child has symptoms, EVEN IF MILD, of cv19, get a PCR test as soon as possible
-
PCR TESTS ARE FOR PEOPLE WITH SYMPTOMS, EVEN MILD SYMPTOMS
- Stay at home until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test. Check if people you live with need to self-isolate
-
- LFT Lateral Flow Tests - the tests you do at home, twice a week, getting the results back in 15-30 mins. These are recommended for people WITHOUT symptoms - not strictly recommended for primary aged children, but many families are choosing to use them.
-
LATERAL FLOW TESTS ARE ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT SYMPTOMS
-
If in any doubt about your child's symptoms, please err on the side of caution when deciding whether to book a PCR - getting a PCR test result will remove any doubt and help keep cases low at Crossdale.
You can also book a PCR if you feel your child has been in contact with someone who has tested positive –click here: PCR test here and follow these instructions.
