Weekly Keydale Blog #8
It's been another busy week of lockdown and we hope you are all still safe and well. This week's pupil letter is dedicated to all our pupils and parents (see below) and we have also attached a picture book to this post for use with children who are worried about Coronavirus - it's a nice resource for all ages.
As I'm sure you will know, the Government announced a potential reopening of schools at some point after 1st June for children in R, Y1 and Y6 (and the children of key workers and vulnerable children in other year groups). Last night, all schools received further guidance from the Department for Education and we have been told to expect a template risk assessment on Monday. I’m sure you understand that we cannot finalise our plans until we have received and reviewed all government guidance and completed all the necessary risk assessments.
If we do reopen from 1st June though, pupils will return to their normal schools and we currently have not received any guidance or information about reopening for any year groups other than R, Y1 or Y6.
The government’s plan is conditional and as such its implementation will be dependent on many factors. However, please do be reassured that as soon as a finalised plan is in place we will communicate this with you.
In the meantime, we would be very grateful if the parents of children in R, Y1 and Y6 could complete this very short survey to help with our planning. Survey – Click Here
Some parents might want to re-read our ‘UPDATE FOR PARENTS, 13TH MAY’ before completing the survey.
Best Wishes,
Peter Cresswell and The Keydale Team
