Homework WB 20.01.25
The children really enjoyed seeing the new tree that appeared on our class display last week. We were asked a lot of questions about it and we tried not to say too much - which has been tricky! They are pleased that they now know the name of that tree - "Awongalema". This links to our new text that we are learning - a fantastic story which is set in Africa involving animals. We will send home a story map this week so that your child can tell you the story.
*Reading - books will be swapped on Mondays and Thursdays as usual. Please re-read those books a few times to help build fluency. We have noticed lots of the children need to really work on 'Fred in your head' instead of sounding out every word. If you notice this, just remind them to Fred in head! Thanks to all the families and children who completed the videos that were sent before the break.
*Spelling this week is Spring 1, Week 3: /er/ - better, under, summer, winter, sister, rubber, her, term, verb, person. Please login to Spelling Shed to play some games to help get to know these words really well.
*Doodle - We have moved up the leader board to second place - whoo! We are still just a few percent behind the children in Year 3. We are so proud of you, Puffins. Keep working hard on doodle! There are some new assignments set and we have noticed how speedy this is making your maths.
Have a great weekend and see you on Monday.
