Please find attached the Y1 knowledge organiser for our Seasonal Changes topic. We return to this during the different seasons (we have done Autumn and Winter already - so you may have heard lots about this already!) but will be looking at Spring as we see signs it is here.
Our knowledge organisers provide an overview of what we anticipate most children to understand by the end of the teaching in this area.
We had a super trip to Keyworth Library yesterday! The children were really excited to see all of the books and choose a new book to enjoy at home. See the pictures below!
*Huge thanks to all of our parent helpers - it made the trip much easier, thanks!
*Library cards were returned to children yesterday so please check book bags
*Don't forget to return your books in 3 weeks!

On Tuesday 21st February, we will be leaving Crossdale at approximately 1:35pm with a view to being at the library for 2pm. Could all parent helpers please be at school for 1:30pm so that I can run through our risk assessment and safety instructions. Thanks so much for all of your offers of help - we appreciate your time.
Another reminder to have those library cards ready for school on the Monday or Tuesday. I will ask parents helpers for help to issue books to children when we are there.
Have a super half-term!

We loved singing yesterday as one of our positive mental health activities yesterday. Our song was all about hugs (Hug Machine) - the children were so happy hugging their friends and even random books (!) that were nearby!
We talked about how we felt good after we had been singing and decided this was definitely a good thing to do to help improve and lift our mood!
As you know, this week we are having a focus on our mental health and on internet safety in line with mental health week and Internet safety day (7th Feb). We always touch base on these when we can and find times to reinforce key messages but this week we have planned in specific activities for our teaching. Hopefully, this week your child will come home and talk to you about these activities.
Today we have created a class story which ended up being about a sad, old dog who was still keen to catch a rat and a cat! Tomorrow we will be singing songs to help with our well-being.
Mr Cresswell has shared some online safety stories in an ICT blog - be sure to look out for those child-friendly texts with important messages. We are going to use Goldilocks in school this week as well as considering our own digital footprints and talking about what we should do if pop ups appear on our screen.
