Nottingham Trip Information
Blog Trip Information.
Dear Parents/carers,
I am writing to give you some more information about the upcoming Year 4 trip to Nottingham City Centre on Wednesday 2nd of October.
This term year 4 have been learning all about ‘What is the USA is like’ and ‘who were the Native Americans’, focusing on the Haudenosaunee tribe. The Nottingham city trip is focusing on the differences between Nottingham and New York, inspiring the children to think about:
- How New York is only 400 years old, and Nottingham has buildings dating back all the way to 1437 (The Old Bell Inn).
- Comparing cities, towns, and villages.
Trip overview:
- Our trip will start at the Windmill Car Park at 8:50. From there we will take registration and hand out yellow jackets. Once we have taken the register, we will split into 2 groups (a group of 15 and a group of 14). Each group will always have 2 Teaching staff and 2 parent helpers with them.
- Group A will catch the first bus at 9:05 and Group B will catch the second bus at 9:20. The children will be sat in pairs on the bus with adults supervising.
- Once the children have arrived in town, they will walk in pairs (with 1 member of our Teaching staff at the front and back, and 2 adult helpers in the middle) towards the city of caves.
- After completing the caves tour, we will walk to the National Justice Museum and complete our tour of the caves, following with lunch in their lunchroom.
- Next, we will walk towards the square (keeping an eye out for any buildings with dates on!) to complete some sketching of the council house which links with our Art topic this term: ‘drawing and sketching’.
- From the square we will walk past The Bell Inn, towards Nottingham castle for a group picture with Robin Hood! Finally, back towards the bus stop to catch the bus home.
Please feel free to ask me any further questions you may have.
