Our trip back in time at Beaumanor Hall

As part of our history topic this half term on the impact of WW2 on Britain, we have had a special visit today to Beaumanor Hall. We stepped back in time during the morning when we were greeted by our billeting officer. We learnt more about evacuation and the importance of ID cards. We then had a go at doing some shopping with our ration books and planned out some wartime meals. We learnt about the history of the hall and its role in cracking codes during the war. Finally we heard the air raid siren and had to scurry off to the shelter!
