HOMEWORK OF THE WEEK (06.01.25)

Happy New Year! I hope you have all had a restful holiday and a positive start to the new year.

Please find attached this week's spellings for next Monday's spelling test (13.01.25). For this week, your child has a word search (to be completed independently) and a Maths revision activity to refresh their understanding of counting pence, which shouldn't take too long.

Please have a look at your child's reading book for this week and encourage your child to keep revisiting it when they can. For our phonics lessons this spring, we are now using comprehension booklets which your child will take home on each Friday as a story book replacement. This is along with a new phonics book, a new challenge tree book and book band book.  I have already set Doodlemaths tasks for this week and lastly, don't forget to keep on using Spelling Shed a few minutes at a time.

Furthermore, within your child's homework book I have inserted a paper copy of their science homework for this half-term and their maths KIRFS. Additionally, as 'Show and Tell' has now had to be moved to Fridays, if there are any completed worksheets/homework tasks that your child would like to share, please could you ask your child to present this on a separate piece of paper in order to have this in school ready for Friday. This is because homework books are still being returned on Tuesdays and so we wouldn't be able to look at any extra pieces of work if they are stuck in homework books. Alternatively, a picture can be sent to the school office which will be forwarded to my email to share with the class.

Have a great week!

- Miss Jackson
